The Problem We Aim to Solve
At SafeOnline Women Kenya (SOW-Kenya), we are dedicated to addressing several critical issues:
Digital Gender Divide: We recognize the digital gender gap that exists, disproportionately affecting women and girls’ access to and use of digital technologies. Our mission includes bridging this gap to ensure equal opportunities for all individuals to participate in the digital world.
Online Gender-Based Violence: We understand the pervasive threat of online gender-based violence, including cyberbullying, harassment, and stalking, which disproportionately target women and girls. We strive to combat these forms of violence and create safer digital spaces for all.
Accessible Technology Terms: We acknowledge the challenge of understanding complex technology terms, particularly for grassroots communities. Through our initiatives, we aim to translate these terms into clear and understandable language, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all individuals, regardless of their background or level of digital literacy.
